recognitions

Recognitions/Acknowledgements

Should you want to apply for the recognition of subjects, please consider the following aspects:

  • You need to indicate the date, the title, the mark (if applicable) and the CP of the subject. Please note that for a registration as additional subject CP are not mandatory.
  • You need to define where the subject should be acknowledged, e. g. for which other subject or in the core selection field (electives) or as additional subject.

Industrial experience aknowledged as an internship

Industrial experience prior to the start of your Master study mostly cannot be recognised as an internship. This is due to the regulations stating that this experience has to be gaind within a German company in Germany or at least in Europe.

Recognition of subjects from a Bachelor degree

Even if modules of your Bachelor overlap or are even identical to a Master module these will not be recognised. This is due to the fact that your Bachelor degree has been used for admission and may not be used twice. In case you have studied some Master courses elsewhere prior to your Master studies at RWTH this may generally be accepted. In this case please first contact the respective institutes responsible for the modules of interfest and check if they will state that both are equivalent. Then submit an application to the board for those subjects that fulfill this requirement.

Recognition of Summer Schools, IDEAL League, ENHANCE

These courses may be aknowledged as long as the generally required data (see above) are provided.
